María de León
María de León was born on August 21, 2000. She began her musical studies at La Bañeza Municipal Music School with teacher Mayte Esteban, and a few years later she continued at the «Ángel Barja» Professional Conservatory of Music in Astorga with Professor Sergio García, ending in 2017 with an Extraordinary Prize and top honors.
In 2016, she continued her studies with the great soloist Asier Polo and teachers María Casado and Iván Siso, being under their tutelage for 4 years. During one year, she took lessons with the cellist Luis Zorita, and several months after she was under the guidance of Shizuka Mitsui, cellist in the Munich Filarmonic.
She is currently studying in the Royal Music Conservatory of Madrid under the guidance of the great cellist and soloist Prof. Fernando Arias.
She has received Masterclasses from important international professors such as: Pablo Ferrández, Aldo Mata, Judith Ermert, Lluís Claret, Olsi Leka, Miguel Jiménez, Sergi Boadella, Damián Martínez, Giovanni Gnocchi, José Enrique Bouché and Rafal Jezierski, among others.
She has offered recitals and concerts in venues such as the Medina Elvira de Atarfe Auditorium (Granada), the Cibeles Centrocentro Auditorium (Madrid), the «Yehudi Menuhin» Auditorium at the Alfonso X El Sabio University (Madrid), the José Iturbi Concert Hall (Valencia), the El Pósito de Sigüenza Auditorium (Guadalajara), the Cultural Center of La Bañeza (León), the León Auditorium, the Pozuelo de Alarcón School of Music Auditorium (Madrid), the Municipal Theater of La Bañeza (León), Shigeru Kawai Center (Madrid)…
